Beginning
with the September 2011-2012 school year, our school district has
conscientiously implemented the requirements found in the Anti-Bullying Bill of
Rights Act by establishing and implementing various programs, approaches and
initiatives to address Harassment, Intimidation and Bullying.
Since the
implementation of the Anti-Bullying Bill of Rights Act, our school district has
made progress in addressing and improving harassment, intimidation and bullying
and the school climate and culture by creating school and district-based
initiatives; utilizing the Myk12 software system for reporting/tracking
incidents; and providing on-going training to staff and students.
While
completing the Self-Assessment for the 2022-2023 school year, we learned that
our school district has demonstrated strengths in the following areas: providing
on-going training for staff and students on HIB related information;
implementing programs/approaches to address HIB prevention and intervention;
and conducting/completing investigations within the 10-day time frame.
As a
district, we are committed to addressing HIB related incidents as they are
reported, in an effort to provide a safe and conducive learning environment for
all students.
